Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Glenn Rushforth got the match started through his kick off. Laurence Short was a little too slow when Les Mulligan got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 5th minute. The score was now 1-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, David Fenton managed to get in a good position for a shot. New Teamname's supporters rose to their feet, but David Fenton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laurence Short breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Glenn Rushforth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Laurence Short managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when New Teamname's Todd Shipley fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some careless play in the New Teamname defense, Thomas Homes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Casey Crocker. The New Teamname fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Casey Crocker should have stopped the shot. After having played for 27 minutes, Les Mulligan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Teamname's supporters crossed their fingers, but Les Mulligan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Les Mulligan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Laurence Short having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Les Mulligan in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Laurence Short saved Branscombe FC from getting behind. Through an outstanding action, after 34 minutes, Laurence Short successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Wally Heslop managed to get in a good position for a shot. New Teamname's supporters rose to their feet, but Wally Heslop was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Laurence Short breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Wally Heslop sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Todd Shipley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Laurence Short tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Todd Shipley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 45 minutes, Les Mulligan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Teamname's supporters crossed their fingers, but Les Mulligan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as New Teamname's Les Mulligan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Laurence Short. That made the score 3-1 after 46 minutes of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thomas Homes was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Les Mulligan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. New Teamname's supporters crossed their fingers, but Les Mulligan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Les Mulligan in the 55th minute of play forced Branscombe FC's goalkeeper Laurence Short to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Branscombe FC getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Leon Cummins hit a great ball. In the 60th minute, Les Mulligan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Wally Heslop received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Laurence Short tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Casey Crocker made an important save on a dangerous shot by Darren Vaughn in the 64th minute. In the 65thth minute of the game Todd Shipley who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Branscombe FC's Laurence Short was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Casey Crocker made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Darren Vaughn sent off a good shot on target. Laurence Short took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Glenn Rushforth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute, Darren Vaughn made a precise shot to the right of Casey Crocker. New Teamname's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. 82 minutes into the match, Darren Vaughn dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Casey Crocker, 3-3. 96 minutes into the game, New Teamname's Les Mulligan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Laurence Short made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-3. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. New Teamname had played much better football throughout.
