After 7 minutes of play, Lingdale88's Ritchie Sollit made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Duncan Holt was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Ritchie Sollit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lingdale88's Ritchie Sollit got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Ken Dothery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ken Dothery fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duncan Holt having to interfere. After some careless play in the Belvedere FC defense, Ken Dothery kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Duncan Holt. The Belvedere FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Duncan Holt should have stopped the shot. Bradley Rashleigh hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Alistair Margarson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Jake Greaves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alistair Margarson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jake Greaves having to interfere. After the first half Lingdale88 were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 51 played minutes Belvedere FC got a freekick which was hit by James Waller. In the 54th minute, Huey Floyd hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ken Dothery's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Duncan Holt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. If Alistair Margarson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Belvedere FC's Alistair Margarson got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ken Dothery couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Lingdale88's zone, Alistair Margarson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jake Greaves came out of the goal and Alistair Margarson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jake Greaves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Noel Daly in the 84th minute of the match. If Ken Dothery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th minute, Ritchie Sollit got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The Lingdale88 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
