If Tommy Baldwin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Jo Reeve came up free with the goalie in the 6th minute, the Holy Smoke fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jo Reeve couldn't finish the play. After 8 minutes, Tommy Baldwin made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. The As's Damon Harris tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jack Cheeseman in the 11th minute of play forced The As's goalkeeper Damon Harris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Holy Smoke getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Jo Reeve hit a great ball. In the 21st match minute, Holy Smoke was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Baldwin to maneuver through the defense. In the 24th minute the ball was on its way in behind The As's goalkeeper Damon Harris, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Tommy Baldwin put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Damon Harris. Tommy Baldwin struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Damon Harris didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Holy Smoke. After a defensive mix-up in The As's zone, Dylon Barton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damon Harris came out of the goal and Dylon Barton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tommy Baldwin in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Damon Harris saved The As from getting behind. Jack Cheeseman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Holy Smoke's Joe Story-Moore played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sebastien Dobson in the 42nd minute of play. In the 44thth minute of the game Tommy Baldwin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but The As's Damon Harris was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After the first half Holy Smoke were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tommy Baldwin to make the kick off. The As's Damon Harris proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save The As from getting a goal against them. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tommy Baldwin in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Damon Harris prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Tommy Baldwin came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Holy Smoke fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tommy Baldwin couldn't finish the play. When Holy Smoke's Tommy Baldwin in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye The As's goalie prevented a goal. Joe Story-Moore showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastien Dobson, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Damon Harris didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Holy Smoke's Tommy Baldwin shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-4 in the ordered_time% minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frankie Hales in the 80th minute of play forced Holy Smoke's goalkeeper Joe Story-Moore to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Holy Smoke getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Ruben Nevin hit a great ball. In the 85th minute Frankie Hales shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joe Story-Moore saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 87 minutes into the game, Ruben Nevin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Holy Smoke's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave The As the free kick. In the 87th minute, Ruben Nevin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bryan Birch recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the The As defense, Ruben Nevin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Damon Harris. The The As fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Damon Harris should have stopped the shot.
