In the 3rd minute Doug Leather shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Antony Beswetherick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bhatti Slappers F.C's Doug Leather got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nath Davis's late challenge caught a Wirral Blues's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nath Davis helped the player get up and apologised. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Doug Leather in the 11th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antony Beswetherick prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 12th match minute, Wirral Blues was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnnie Kearney to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Doug Leather in the 14th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Antony Beswetherick prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bhatti Slappers F.C's Doug Leather got a good chance for a goal in the 16th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 17 minutes, Trevor Jefferies mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wirral Blues and the Bhatti Slappers F.C players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 18 played minutes Wirral Blues got a freekick which was hit by Trevor Jefferies. Doug Leather fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Antony Beswetherick having to interfere. Oscar Evans struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Antony Beswetherick didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bhatti Slappers F.C. When Bhatti Slappers F.C's Doug Leather in the 22nd minute got a chance for a shot 22nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wirral Blues's goalie prevented a goal. Antony Beswetherick stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Doug Leather's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Oscar Evans managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bhatti Slappers F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Oscar Evans was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Antony Beswetherick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 26thth minute of the game Doug Leather who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wirral Blues's Antony Beswetherick was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Doug Leather got free in front of the goal in the 27th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Antony Beswetherick was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Guy Barnfield showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andre Wakefield in the 28th minute of the match. When Geoff Watts came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Wirral Blues fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geoff Watts couldn't finish the play. When Bhatti Slappers F.C's Doug Leather in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Wirral Blues's goalie prevented a goal. Wirral Blues's Antony Beswetherick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar Evans in the 41st minute of play. Andre Wakefield took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guy Barnfield. Guy Barnfield dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andre Wakefield to strike the kick off in the second half. Doug Leather might have been able to make a better finish in the 51st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Antony Beswetherick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Doug Leather ran back to his position shaking his head. Guy Barnfield made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andre Wakefield in the 53rd minute of play. Harvey Batty kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 60 minutes, Antony Beswetherick successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of Bhatti Slappers F.C booed when Wirral Blues was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harvey Batty didn't get a good kick on the ball. Doug Leather's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Antony Beswetherick read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Guy Barnfield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geoff Watts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Antony Beswetherick made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oscar Evans in the 68th minute. Phil Delaney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 73rd match minute, Bhatti Slappers F.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anthony Clayton to maneuver through the defense. Johnnie Kearney was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 74th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Bhatti Slappers F.C's Guy Barnfield played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Harvey Batty in the 78th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andre Wakefield during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Andre Wakefield hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Doug Leather received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Antony Beswetherick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 85 minutes into the match, Bhatti Slappers F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Harvey Batty came free, but Guy Barnfield reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 89 played minutes Wirral Blues got a freekick which was hit by Harvey Batty. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wirral Blues's goalkeeper Antony Beswetherick, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.
