Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Casey Titmuss started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the game, Liam Holmes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. newcastle united's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Wells the free kick. Lucas Stockton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Berry having to interfere. After having played for 14 minutes, Jason Layfield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wells's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jason Layfield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Lucas Stockton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 20 minutes into the match, Casey Titmuss had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stephen Barton. Wells's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Casey Titmuss was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. If Lucas Stockton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lucas Stockton in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Martin Berry, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 1-2 when Kev Bayford sped through Wells's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Stephen Barton. If Lucas Stockton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stephen Barton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kev Bayford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 47 played minutes Wells got a freekick which was hit by Carlton Brazier. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Casey Titmuss during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 49 played minutes newcastle united got a freekick which was hit by Casey Titmuss. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
Stephen Barton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Casey Titmuss, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After 64 played minutes Wells got a freekick which was hit by Carlton Brazier. Derek Morning was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 64th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. 67 minutes into the game, Lucas Stockton cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Martin Berry was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lucas Stockton took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Martin Berry. Martin Berry dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. After 78 minutes, Lucas Stockton made it 4-2 with a short kick to the right side. newcastle united's Martin Berry tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Lucas Stockton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Berry having to interfere. Jason Layfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Martin Berry tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some careless play in the Wells defense, Casey Titmuss kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Stephen Barton. The Wells fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Stephen Barton should have stopped the shot. In the 90th minute, Casey Titmuss ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Stephen Barton was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-4. The supporters of Wells booed when newcastle united was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Liam Holmes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Despite being the better team, Wells failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
