The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Derek Weston during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Malcolm McCunnie showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Johnathan Crowther, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. When Bruce Nailor fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hawkcombe's protests and gave Bruce Nailor a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Holmer Green City booed when Hawkcombe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruce Nailor didn't get a good kick on the ball. John Paul Paterson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Calvin Robinson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. Derek Westons short, quick shot in the 72ndth minute got Calvin Robinson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 73 minutes, John Paul Paterson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hawkcombe's supporters crossed their fingers, but John Paul Paterson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Calvin Robinson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Paul Paterson in the 78th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bruce Nailor got free with Calvin Robinson in the 81st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. John Paul Paterson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out.
