Tenbury Wells AFC's Barney Rushmere played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jim Goodfellow in the 14th minute of play. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Tenbury Wells AFC's goalkeeper Barney Rushmere, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Loyd Knight-Percival fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vinnie Cole having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Worcester Park's zone, Adam Keyworth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vinnie Cole came out of the goal and Adam Keyworth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 29 minutes, Philip Anderson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Worcester Park and the Tenbury Wells AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 28th minute of the game. One of Worcester Park:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Tenbury Wells AFC:s goal. The referee gave Tenbury Wells AFC a penalty, 30 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Pierce Stone, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Worcester Park's Vinnie Cole. 0-1. After 33rd play minutes Jim Goodfellow shot 1-1, a short shot which went by Barney Rushmere and just under the crossbar into goal. The audience was convinced that Jim Goodfellow's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Barney Rushmere was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. When Lennie Hammett came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Worcester Park fans jumped to their feet. The supporters of Worcester Park booed when Tenbury Wells AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joshua Flintoff didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Worcester Park's Philip Anderson tried to score from far away in the 53rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Barney Rushmere made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jim Goodfellow in the 56th minute of play. Lennie Hammett blasted a shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Barney Rushmere having to make a save. Barney Rushmere took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennie Hammett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Denny Saxton fell near the penalty area in the 59th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tenbury Wells AFC's protests and gave Denny Saxton a yellow card for diving instead. Philip Anderson was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 60th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vance Eldridge during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Tenbury Wells AFC's Denny Saxton got a free kick in the 94th minute. In the 96th minute, Lennie Hammett made a precise shot to the right of Barney Rushmere. Tenbury Wells AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1.
