Spectators: 7432 (Terracing: 5650, Seating: 1732, VIP seats: 50) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Vance Galloway made the kick off which started today's match. The supporters of East Horsley United booed when Tranmere Raiders was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Albert Christie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leon Goldsmith made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vance Galloway in the 5th minute of play. Chris Foreman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Leon Goldsmith took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vance Galloway, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, East Horsley United's Dale Hehir got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 17th minute, Albert Christie hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gwyn Bellamy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chris Foreman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leon Goldsmith took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vance Galloway, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeff Branson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerry Shields in the 31st minute of play. Leon Goldsmith showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vance Galloway, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. After a rather tough play, East Horsley United's Brian Murray got a free kick in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute, Gerry Shields fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 46 minutes into the match, East Horsley United's goal looked a bit too open when Gerry Shields came free, but Jeff Branson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gerry Shields received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jeff Branson came out and tried to block the shot, but Gerry Shields slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 49th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gerry Shields was the one to do the kick off. Leon Goldsmith made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vance Galloway in the 57th minute of play. 61 minutes into the match, Tranmere Raiders's goal looked a bit too open when Vance Galloway came free, but Leon Goldsmith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chris Foreman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leon Goldsmith made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vance Galloway in the 65th minute of play. After having played for 69 minutes, Vance Galloway managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. East Horsley United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vance Galloway was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vance Galloway sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vance Galloway received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Leon Goldsmith tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Vance Galloway had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. East Horsley United's Chris Foreman got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Austen Jeffrey hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. Vance Galloway fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leon Goldsmith having to interfere. Leon Goldsmith was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Vance Galloway showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 97 minute of play. When the match was over East Horsley United could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Tranmere Raiders throughout the match.
