Rex Billing made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Jack Hazledine didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alastair Boatman went, in the 30th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Basil Woodhead sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute the ball was on its way in behind shadow fc's goalkeeper Jack Hazledine, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Alastair Boatman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Alex Airton came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Birmingham United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alex Airton couldn't finish the play. After the first half shadow fc were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lucas Hartley to make the kick off. Alastair Boatman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jack Hazledine having to interfere. shadow fc's Sacha Harkin got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Sacha Harkin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sacha Harkin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jamie Bartlett hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. 76 minutes into the game, Lucas Hartley recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rex Billing. Lucas Hartley showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. In the 80th minute, Birmingham United's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Lucas Hartley fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 82 minutes of play, Birmingham United's Alastair Boatman made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jack Hazledine was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rex Billing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lucas Hartley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. shadow fc's Lucas Hartley got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
