A very good chance. Scott Noble took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Russell Burgess, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sly Fairs got his second yellow card in the match during the 15th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. A hard shot 22 in the game by Ted Perkins from a close distance when the talented Scott Noble managed to make a qualified save. Egham United's players were relieved. An unexpected shot in the 42nd minute by Ted Perkins got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marc Clifford during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

Sutton on Sea City's Kasey Parslow proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Sutton on Sea City from getting a goal against them. In the 51st match minute, Sutton on Sea City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Capes to maneuver through the defense. The referee gave Marc Clifford a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. A collision led to Egham United getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Marc Clifford hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Ted Perkins managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sutton on Sea City's supporters rose to their feet, but Ted Perkins was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Scott Noble breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Egham United's Warren Pyrah got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 96th minute Warren Pyrah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kasey Parslow saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Sutton on Sea City were victorious despite being under pressure from Egham United for much of the match.
