The referee showed Dean Taggart the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dean Taggart hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. A collision led to Sutton on Sea City getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Danny Friend hit a great ball. Vincent Edison took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 7th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Kasey Parslow. Sutton on Sea City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sammy Tate during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Sutton on Sea City's Sammy Tate got a free kick in the 9th minute. A collision led to Sutton on Sea City getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Barry Bentley hit a great ball. Teddy Sheene received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Kasey Parslow tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Crispin Weston's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kasey Parslow read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. A hard shot 27 in the game by Crispin Weston from a close distance when the talented Kasey Parslow managed to make a qualified save. Sutton on Sea City's players were relieved. A collision led to Sutton on Sea City getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. David Capes hit a great ball. If Crispin Weston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teddy Sheene in the 36th minute of play forced Sutton on Sea City's goalkeeper Kasey Parslow to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Crispin Weston struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Kasey Parslow didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Middlesbrough F.C. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Teddy Sheene made a kick off. Garry Staple received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Kasey Parslow tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teddy Sheene sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Sutton on Sea City getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Thomas Haley hit a great ball. When Teddy Sheene came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Middlesbrough F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teddy Sheene couldn't finish the play. Teddy Sheene recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Middlesbrough F.C's Crispin Weston got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Teddy Sheene fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kasey Parslow having to interfere. Crispin Weston sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Middlesbrough F.C's Teddy Sheene in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Kasey Parslow showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teddy Sheene in the 83rd minute of the match. Crispin Weston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Kasey Parslow tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 88 minutes into the game, Larry Bean was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sutton on Sea City's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Middlesbrough F.C the free kick. In the 91st minute, Teddy Sheene ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kasey Parslow was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Middlesbrough F.C's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
