Anthony Prince fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stefan Proctor having to interfere. Stefan Proctor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anthony Prince in the 41st minute of play. Jonathon Van Der Hoorn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 44th minute of the match, but Terry Winship made a huge save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

A collision led to Winsford getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. John-Paul Byrom hit a great ball. Jonathon Van Der Hoorn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Terry Winship showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathon Van Der Hoorn in the 59th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Rodney Peacock got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Arsenal's goalkeeper Stefan Proctor had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anthony Prince. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orson Hudson in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Terry Winship prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Leigh Horseman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Anthony Prince received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in Winsford fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 89th minute. Penalty! In the 91st minute there was a penalty for Arsenal. Larry Parslow stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Terry Winship. 2-1. After 94 played minutes Winsford got a freekick which was hit by Jim Holroyd.
