Spectators: 5001 (Terracing: 4001, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Clacton City's Nathanial Simpson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Nathanial Simpson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Swinton AFC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Alec Love hit a great ball. George Shakespeare fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jo Reynolds having to interfere. After having played for 10 minutes, George Shakespeare managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Swinton AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but George Shakespeare was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Johnathan Preston recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 16th minute, Nathanial Simpson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clacton City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 20th minute, Kristopher Hylton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tristram Bittner stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mick Horseman's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. In the 31st minute, one of Swinton AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Swinton AFC. In the 32nd minute there was a penalty for Clacton City. Ashley Seagrave stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tristram Bittner. 0-2. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mick Horseman in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tristram Bittner prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Johnathan Preston to strike the kick off in the second half. Swinton AFC's George Shakespeare got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. George Shakespeare sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 56 minutes, Nick Tyson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clacton City and the Swinton AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 56th minute of the game. One of Clacton City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Swinton AFC:s goal. Mick Horseman's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 62ndth minute, Tristram Bittner skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Nathanial Simpson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clacton City's supporters rose to their feet, but Nathanial Simpson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tristram Bittner breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 64 minutes, Marlon Ambrose mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Swinton AFC and the Clacton City players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Clacton City booed when Swinton AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marlon Ambrose didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 66th minute, Nathanial Simpson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. George Shakespeare sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute, Johnathan Preston hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Johnathan Preston received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. When Johnathan Preston came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Swinton AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Johnathan Preston couldn't finish the play. Jo Reynolds showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from George Shakespeare, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. In the 93rd minute, Mick Horseman left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clacton City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. The Clacton City players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
