After 47 played minutes, Stoneleigh's Zane Hargraves shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Adrian Stevens came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Stoneleigh reached it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Johnathon Linkletter made a kick off. Marek Coogan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Stevens having to interfere. If Stevie Welsh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With his leg Adrian Stevens managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Stoneleigh's Stevie Welsh fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 58 minutes into the match, South Ockendon FC's goalkeeper Adrian Stevens had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marek Coogan. South Ockendon FC's Adrian Stevens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marek Coogan in the 65th minute of play. Owen Warburton hit a great ball. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Marek Coogan took a quick shot and it went in 0-1 without a chance for Adrian Stevens to make any attempt to save it. Stevie Welsh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Stevens having to interfere. 92 minutes into the match, Stoneleigh's goal looked a bit too open when CJ Routledge came free, but Jacob Thorn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 94 minutes, Stevie Welsh managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Stoneleigh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stevie Welsh was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
