CJ Routledge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 14 minutes into the match, Reading's goal looked a bit too open when CJ Routledge came free, but Tyler Cavanagh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Charlie Sanderson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adrian Stevens having to interfere. Owen Warburton charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Owen Warburton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, South Ockendon FC's Owen Warburton got a free kick in the 20th minute. With his leg Adrian Stevens managed to avoid a goal in the 23rdth minute, when Reading's Bradley Turnbull fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If CJ Routledge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. CJ Routledge recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bradley Turnbull sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 40 minutes into the match, South Ockendon FC's goal looked a bit too open when Charlie Sanderson came free, but Adrian Stevens reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Charlie Sanderson to make the kick off. 0-2 became the score in the 53rd minute when CJ Routledge elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. South Ockendon FC's Adrian Stevens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bradley Turnbull in the 60th minute of play. South Ockendon FC's Owen Warburton got his second yellow card of the match in the 63rd minute. The referee ordered Owen Warburton off the ground. In the 64th match minute, South Ockendon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Owen Warburton to maneuver through the defense. CJ Routledge received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Tyler Cavanagh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
