Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Barry Armitage in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Donny Meechan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Blair Hoult recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Donny Meechan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barry Armitage, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 20th minute, Alec Cheesman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jack Tynan charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jack Tynan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Sunderland booed when PSA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jack Tynan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After taking down the ball on Sunderland's corner Martyn Hogg fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Donny Meechan quite easily take care of the ball. Donny Meechan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Barry Armitage in the 29th minute of play. If Blair Hoult had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. Donny Meechan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 38 minutes, Billy Lane mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sunderland and the PSA players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 38th minute, Billy Lane hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 39 minutes, Terry Marchant managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PSA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Terry Marchant was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 42 played minutes PSA got a freekick which was hit by Nicholas Fish. Blair Hoult fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donny Meechan having to interfere. Bradley Van Der Hoorn kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Andre Nash managed to get in a good position for a shot. PSA's supporters rose to their feet, but Andre Nash was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Stevie Brooks breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Donny Meechan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry Armitage, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 88 played minutes Sunderland got a freekick which was hit by Alec Cheesman. Teddy Budden hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute Joe Goodman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stevie Brooks saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. PSA were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
