Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ted Hitchcock kicked off to start the match. After having played for 2 minutes, Stuart Lucas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Warrior's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stuart Lucas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 4 minutes of play, Warrior's Vincent Bamford made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Stewart Cook was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Topsham's zone, Vincent Bamford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stewart Cook came out of the goal and Vincent Bamford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 13 played minutes Topsham got a freekick which was hit by Romeo Bacon. Stewart Cook showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vincent Bamford in the 14th minute of the match. In the 16th minute Vincent Bamford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stewart Cook saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vincent Bamford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stewart Cook having to interfere. Vincent Bamford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Stewart Cook tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Ollie Hargreaves fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Warrior's protests and gave Ollie Hargreaves a yellow card for diving instead. After 22 played minutes Warrior got a freekick which was hit by Ollie Hargreaves. A hard shot by Terry Hardcastle from long distance, 23 minutes into the match, got Garth Edworthy's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 24th minute, Warrior's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Rob Woodier fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Topsham's zone, Stuart Lucas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Stewart Cook came out of the goal and Stuart Lucas tried to chip the ball over his head. In the 29th minute Stuart Lucas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stewart Cook saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute of the match Brandon Acton shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stewart Cook showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. 34 minutes into the game, Vincent Bamford cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Stewart Cook was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Topsham's Rob Woodier got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rob Woodier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Garth Edworthy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zackary Camfield kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Rob Woodier made a precise shot to the right of Garth Edworthy. Warrior's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Rob Woodier received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Garth Edworthy tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.
The wind increased when Vincent Bamford made the kick off in the second half. Garth Edworthy made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ted Hitchcock in the 52nd minute of play. Vincent Bamford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Stewart Cook having to interfere. In the 58th minute Ted Hitchcock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garth Edworthy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Topsham's Terry Hardcastle got a free kick in the 66th minute. Stewart Cook acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 67th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Vic Hales. 73 minutes into the match, Topsham's goal looked a bit too open when Vincent Bamford came free, but Stewart Cook reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Warrior booed when Topsham was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Romeo Bacon didn't get a good kick on the ball. Stewart Cook showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vincent Bamford in the 75th minute of the match. Garth Edworthy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted Hitchcock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the game, Vincent Bamford lined in a short shot 1-3 behind a frustrated Stewart Cook. In the 89th minute Ted Hitchcock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garth Edworthy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rob Woodier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Topsham supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Warrior's performance. The match ended with a win for Warrior.
