When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Rob Woodier sped through Harborne's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Al Bentley. 22 minutes into the match, Harborne's Teddy Hopgood sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stewart Cook narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rob Woodier fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Al Bentley having to interfere. When Rob Woodier came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Topsham fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rob Woodier couldn't finish the play. Rob Woodier scored 0-2 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Al Bentley, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Ted Hitchcock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 44th minute, Rob Woodier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dale Harkness sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 82ndth minute of the game Teddy Hopgood who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Topsham's Stewart Cook was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Teddy Hopgood came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Harborne fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teddy Hopgood couldn't finish the play. If Ted Hitchcock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Harborne fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Topsham were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
