Mike Gamble hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Simon Maclean fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leo Cook having to interfere. Clevedon AFC's Leo Cook played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Maclean in the 17th minute of play. If Nick Furlong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 25 minutes into the match, Horsforth's Rio Bonds broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nick Furlong in the 28th minute of play forced Clevedon AFC's goalkeeper Leo Cook to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute Nick Furlong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leo Cook saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jerry Curtis charged in rather forcefully in the 33rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stefan Woolcock was the one to do the kick off. The Clevedon AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leo Cook should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Mike Gamble managed to get in a good position for a shot. Clevedon AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mike Gamble was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samuel Leeson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 76 minutes into the match, Clevedon AFC's Piers Mellon sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Samuel Leeson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Clevedon AFC's Stefan Woolcock got his second yellow card of the match in the 80th minute. The referee ordered Stefan Woolcock off the ground. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Horsforth had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
