Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Sean Crabtree started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Peter Bamford came out of the goal in the 26th minute to try and stop a shot by Shepton Mallet's Damien Caine. But to his dismay, Damien Caine quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 30 minutes of play, Shepton Mallet's Damien Caine made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Peter Bamford was left in no man's land by his defense there! Polperro's Peter Bamford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benjamin Wray in the 37th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Benjamin Wray in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Peter Bamford prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 41 minutes, Damien Caine managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shepton Mallet's supporters crossed their fingers, but Damien Caine was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had gone on for 43 minutes, Damien Caine put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Peter Bamford. In the 46th minute, Damien Caine left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Shepton Mallet fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Felix Bridgeworth to strike the kick off in the second half. Polperro's Peter Bamford proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Polperro from getting a goal against them. Damien Caine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Peter Bamford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ray Osmond's late challenge caught a Shepton Mallet's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nigel Messenger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Bridgeworth, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Bridgeworth in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Nigel Messenger saved Shepton Mallet from getting behind. Peter Bamford stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sean Crabtree's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. In the 76th match minute, Polperro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Bamford to maneuver through the defense. Polperro's Peter Bamford proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Polperro from getting a goal against them. Felix Bridgeworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigel Messenger having to interfere. After some careless play in the Polperro defense, Damien Caine kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Peter Bamford. The Polperro fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Peter Bamford should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Polperro's Peter Bamford got control of the ball when Benjamin Wray tried to sneak it across the goal line. Damien Caine succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-6 in the 96th playminute. The Shepton Mallet players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
