Shepton Mallet Park

Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Greg Selby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Nigel Messenger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When The dragons's Greg Selby in the 6th minute got a chance for a shot 6th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Shepton Mallet's goalie prevented a goal. After 13 played minutes Shepton Mallet got a freekick which was hit by Eric Caton. With a little luck, The dragons's Buster Sills got control of the ball when Damien Caine tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ian Barnett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Buster Sills tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute Greg Selby shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nigel Messenger saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bob Draper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigel Messenger having to interfere. The dragons's Buster Sills played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sean Crabtree in the 24th minute of play. Damien Caine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Buster Sills having to interfere. With a little luck, The dragons's Buster Sills got control of the ball when Damien Caine tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nigel Messenger stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Greg Selby's shot from short distance in the 46th minute.
The wind increased when Greg Selby made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Shepton Mallet's Philip Stubbs got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Greg Selbys short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Nigel Messenger to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 63 minutes, Olly Burrows mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The dragons and the Shepton Mallet players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in The dragons's zone, Benjamin Wray stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Buster Sills came out of the goal and Benjamin Wray tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Benjamin Wray's late challenge caught a The dragons's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benjamin Wray helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Shepton Mallet getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Benjamin Wray hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Greg Selby got free with Nigel Messenger in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bob Draper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Nigel Messenger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kieran Hopker's late challenge caught a Shepton Mallet's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kieran Hopker helped the player get up and apologised. After 75 played minutes The dragons got a freekick which was hit by Kieran Hopker. An unexpectedly hard shot by Philip Stubbs in the 77th minute of play forced The dragons's goalkeeper Buster Sills to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 81 minutes, Jo Meade mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Shepton Mallet and the The dragons players grew even worse after the yellow card. Buster Sills came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Shepton Mallet's Philip Stubbs. But to his dismay, Philip Stubbs quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Buster Sills took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damien Caine, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 92nd match minute, The dragons was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mitch Harris to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute of the match Buster Woodhouse sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Buster Sills skillfully saved the ball. Bob Draper fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nigel Messenger having to interfere. Shepton Mallet succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though The dragons had controlled the match.
