Spectators: 7303 (Terracing: 5678, Seating: 1575, VIP seats: 50) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Sean Crabtree started the match with the kick off. When the match had gone on for 4 minutes, Sean Crabtree put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Trey Swain. Sean Crabtree recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 17th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 19th minute, Damien Caine got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 22nd match minute, Sedgewick Collective was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jay Sheldon to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damien Caine in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Trey Swain saved Sedgewick Collective from getting behind. Trey Swain made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damien Caine in the 25th minute of play. 27 minutes into the match, Sedgewick Collective's goal looked a bit too open when Damien Caine came free, but Trey Swain reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Trey Swain took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sean Crabtree, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Shepton Mallet's Nigel Messenger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Shepton Mallet from getting a goal against them. Simon Halliday received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Nigel Messenger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sedgewick Collective's Trey Swain played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damien Caine in the 35th minute of play. 38 minutes into the game, Shepton Mallet's Sean Crabtree nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Trey Swain made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. Shepton Mallet's Damien Caine got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Ross Freeman made the kick off in the second half. Simon Halliday struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Nigel Messenger didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sedgewick Collective. Damien Caine recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sean Crabtree recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Sedgewick Collective's Trey Swain got control of the ball when Damien Caine tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, Jay Sheldon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sedgewick Collective's supporters rose to their feet, but Jay Sheldon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nigel Messenger breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Sean Crabtree had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Damien Caine received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Trey Swain tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sean Crabtree sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sedgewick Collective's Trey Swain proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Sedgewick Collective from getting a goal against them. In the 87th minute, Sean Crabtree got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Trey Swain showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sean Crabtree, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. 94 minutes into the game, Ross Freeman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sedgewick Collective's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Shepton Mallet the free kick. A collision led to Sedgewick Collective getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Ross Freeman hit a great ball. When the match was over Shepton Mallet could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Sedgewick Collective throughout the match.
