Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ricky Craven started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When Cowplain's Jo Burgess in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Penetrators's goalie prevented a goal. Rodd Shotton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Apsden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Cowplain's Silvester Bastow got a free kick in the 11th minute. In the 15th minute of the match Ritchie Townsend shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodd Shotton showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 21st minute Jo Burgess shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Neil Rice saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kris Apsden in the 26th minute of play forced Cowplain's goalkeeper Rodd Shotton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Kris Apsden ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rodd Shotton was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After having played for 32 minutes, Ricky Craven managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Penetrators's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ricky Craven was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Graham Fleetham kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Jo Burgess blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Neil Rice having to make a save. If Eric Davis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 42 minutes in the game, Jo Burgess fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Neil Rice having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Eric Davis took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Neil Rice to make any attempt to save it. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jo Burgess to strike the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Jo Burgess cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Neil Rice was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 58th minute there was a penalty for Cowplain. Benji Devaney stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Neil Rice. 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eric Davis in the 61st minute of play forced Penetrators's goalkeeper Neil Rice to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jo Burgess had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Joshua Dawson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cowplain's supporters rose to their feet, but Joshua Dawson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Neil Rice breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 68 played minutes Penetrators got a freekick which was hit by Graeme Renwick. Jo Burgess fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Neil Rice having to interfere.
