Spectators: 7202 (Terracing: 5652, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 50) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Jeff Selby kicked off to start the match. Vince Hammett charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The Bury St Eds fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After 14 minutes, Franz Ruddock mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Bury St Eds and the Perivale United players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Perivale United booed when Bury St Eds was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Franz Ruddock didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 17 played minutes Bury St Eds got a freekick which was hit by Rueben Bzeu. 18 minutes into the match, Perivale United's Reggie Howard broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Perivale United's Stefan Bean got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rod Lundy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Donald Dobbs fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Sewell having to interfere. If Donald Dobbs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Stefan Bean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the game, Rueben Bzeu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bury St Eds's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Perivale United the free kick. After 35 played minutes Bury St Eds got a freekick which was hit by Rueben Bzeu. In the 38th match minute, Bury St Eds was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rueben Bzeu to maneuver through the defense. Rod Lundy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Wally Avery tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Donald Dobbs got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Perivale United getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Marc Naylor hit a great ball. It was beautiful to see Bury St Eds's Benji Daly in action when he in the 49th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Stefan Bean to strike the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Samuel Theobald managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bury St Eds's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuel Theobald was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Wally Avery took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rod Lundy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Samuel Theobald fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bury St Eds's protests and gave Samuel Theobald a yellow card for diving instead. In the 68th minute, Reggie Howard sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Bury St Eds's Wally Avery didn't even have to move. Vince Hammett was shown his second yellow card after 75 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 76th minute, Vince Hammett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute of the match Benji Daly shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Dale Sewell showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Perivale United's zone, Donald Dobbs stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dale Sewell came out of the goal and Donald Dobbs tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bury St Eds's Jeff Selby got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 91 minutes into the match, Perivale United's goalkeeper Dale Sewell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hugh La Forte. 93 minutes into the match, Perivale United's goalkeeper Dale Sewell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Franz Ruddock.
