Huey Ellerby started the match with the kick off. Al Newlyn took the ball and in the 3 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Andy Kelly. Andy Kelly dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Verne Garnett's late challenge caught a Welling's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Verne Garnett helped the player get up and apologised. After 12 played minutes, Welling's Luke Shephard shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Andy Kelly came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Welling reached it. If Al Newlyn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andy Kelly stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Loyd Lofthouse's shot from short distance in the 18th minute. After 27 minutes of play, Welling's Al Newlyn made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Andy Kelly was left in no man's land by his defense there! Loyd Lofthouse's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Andy Kelly read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. After having played for 35 minutes, Al Newlyn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Welling's supporters crossed their fingers, but Al Newlyn was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 37th minute, Al Newlyn made a precise shot to the right of Andy Kelly. LARGEPEEPEE's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Huey Ellerby in the 42nd minute of play forced Welling's goalkeeper Rich Hurst to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The LARGEPEEPEE players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Welling were winning 0-3.

In the 52nd minute, Greg Haugue hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Loyd Lofthouse in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Andy Kelly saved LARGEPEEPEE from getting behind. Huey Ellerby's late challenge caught a Welling's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. If Huey Ellerby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Huey Ellerby managed to get in a good position for a shot. LARGEPEEPEE's supporters rose to their feet, but Huey Ellerby was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rich Hurst breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Andy Kelly showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Loyd Lofthouse, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Al Newlyn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Andy Kelly tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. LARGEPEEPEE's Andy Kelly played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loyd Lofthouse in the 81st minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, Welling's Loyd Lofthouse sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Andy Kelly narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Loyd Lofthouse's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Andy Kelly was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Al Newlyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Andy Kelly having to interfere. Welling played a much better game than LARGEPEEPEE and deserved their victory. The LARGEPEEPEE players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
