Spectators: 5150 (Terracing: 4050, Seating: 1050, VIP seats: 50) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Loyd Lofthouse started the match with the kick off. After 5 minutes, Freddy Holt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Welling and the Cornwall Fc players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Cornwall Fc booed when Welling was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Freddy Holt didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zaq Davison showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Al Newlyn, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. Frankie Miller took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rich Hurst. Rich Hurst dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 28 minutes of play, Welling's Loyd Lofthouse made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zaq Davison was left in no man's land by his defense there! Keanu Skinner hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Frankie Miller recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Frankie Miller stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frankie Miller in the 51st minute of play forced Welling's goalkeeper Rich Hurst to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 53rd match minute, Cornwall Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Malcolm Phippard to maneuver through the defense. Rich Hurst showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frankie Miller in the 56th minute of the match. Rich Hurst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Frankie Miller, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zaq Davison made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Loyd Lofthouse in the 60th minute of play. In the 61st match minute, Cornwall Fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keanu Skinner to maneuver through the defense. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Loyd Lofthouse took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Zaq Davison to make any attempt to save it. When Frankie Miller came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Cornwall Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frankie Miller couldn't finish the play. Welling's Loyd Lofthouse was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 70th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Rich Hurst made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shawn Cardwell in the 79th minute of play. In the 89th minute of the match, Loyd Lofthouse tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Zaq Davison saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 92 minutes into the match, Welling's goal looked a bit too open when Frankie Miller came free, but Rich Hurst reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle went the supporters of Welling were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Cornwall Fc side.
