Spectators: 7500 (Terracing: 5625, Seating: 1725, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Gordon Pollard started the match with the kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Great Addington's goal looked a bit too open when Rio Rowell came free, but Phil Cheeseman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the match, Congresbury's goalkeeper Huey Garforth had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Johnnie Ellis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dion Blacksmith in the 8th minute of play forced Great Addington's goalkeeper Phil Cheeseman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Crispin Phippard in the 9th minute of play forced Great Addington's goalkeeper Phil Cheeseman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Johnnie Ellis managed to get in a good position for a shot. Great Addington's supporters rose to their feet, but Johnnie Ellis was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Huey Garforth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dion Blacksmith in the 15th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phil Cheeseman saved Great Addington from getting behind. In the 17th minute of the match Alan Lemerond sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Phil Cheeseman skillfully saved the ball. In the 18th minute Dion Blacksmith shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phil Cheeseman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gordon Pollard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Huey Garforth made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Scott Griggs in the 23rd minute of play forced Great Addington's goalkeeper Phil Cheeseman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Danny Milburn reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Huey Garforth. The goal made the score 1-0. In the 32nd minute Rio Rowell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phil Cheeseman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With 33 minutes on the clock, Wesley Farrow commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Congresbury fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 33rd minute. Penalty! In the 35th minute there was a penalty for Great Addington. Jools Morning stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Huey Garforth. 2-0. Scott Griggs's late challenge caught a Great Addington's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Scott Griggs helped the player get up and apologised. Scott Griggs kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Dion Blacksmith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Cheeseman having to interfere. Dion Blacksmith received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Phil Cheeseman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dion Blacksmith struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Phil Cheeseman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Congresbury. If Danny Milburn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gordon Pollard who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 47thth minute tested the skills of Huey Garforth when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

If Dion Blacksmith had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dion Blacksmith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Cheeseman having to interfere. After some careless play in the Great Addington defense, Dion Blacksmith kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Phil Cheeseman. The Great Addington fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Phil Cheeseman should have stopped the shot. Dion Blacksmith fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phil Cheeseman having to interfere. With his leg Phil Cheeseman managed to avoid a goal in the 75thth minute, when Congresbury's Dion Blacksmith fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 76th minute Johnnie Ellis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Huey Garforth saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rio Rowell's late challenge caught a Great Addington's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The match ended in a win for Great Addington.
