Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Stuart Bullard started the match with the kick off. Ivan Dearden succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 6th playminute. In the 11th minute Stuart Bullard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Walter Johnson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Coventry United's Rufus Prutton got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Surbiton AFC booed when Coventry United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Micheal Crayon didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Surbiton AFC's Stuart Bullard in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Coventry United's goalie prevented a goal. Stuart Bullard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walter Johnson having to interfere. Micheal Crayon hit a great freekick 22 minutes into the match. In the 24th of the match, Stuart Bullard tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Walter Johnson got in the way and made a wonderful save. Rufus Prutton charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rufus Prutton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Frazer Ferdinand kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Walter Johnson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stuart Bullard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivan Dearden who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Walter Johnson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Freddie Pearson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Micheal Crayon in the 37th minute of the match. Rufus Prutton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Coventry United's zone, Stuart Bullard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walter Johnson came out of the goal and Stuart Bullard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Surbiton AFC's Stuart Bullard slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Walter Johnson. That made the score 2-0 after 47 minutes of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Johnny Prior made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stuart Bullard in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Walter Johnson saved Coventry United from getting behind. When Micheal Crayon fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Coventry United's protests and gave Micheal Crayon a yellow card for diving instead. Micheal Crayon hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 65th minute, but Freddie Pearson got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Surbiton AFC hanging dry this time. The supporters of Surbiton AFC booed when Coventry United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nath Price didn't get a good kick on the ball. Walter Johnson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ivan Dearden in the 67th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Coventry United's zone, Stuart Bullard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Walter Johnson came out of the goal and Stuart Bullard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 71st minute of the match Gerry Pascoe sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Walter Johnson skillfully saved the ball. 84 minutes into the game, Stuart Bullard cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Walter Johnson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ivan Dearden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Walter Johnson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Walter Johnson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stuart Bullard's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. 96 minutes into the match, Coventry United's goal looked a bit too open when Stuart Bullard came free, but Walter Johnson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Micheal Crayon was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 98 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Coventry United's Micheal Crayon got a free kick in the 99th minute. After recieving a nice pass, Surbiton AFC's Frazer Ferdinand tried to score from far away in the 100th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar.
