The Romford fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rio Bedford should have stopped the shot. If Stuart Bullard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Stuart Bullard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Rio Bedford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the game, Vincent Granville was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Romford's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Surbiton AFC the free kick. Vincent Granville hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 69th match minute, Surbiton AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerry Pascoe to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stuart Bullard in the 75th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rio Bedford saved Romford from getting behind. After 88 minutes, Nat Doughty mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Romford and the Surbiton AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Romford getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Nat Doughty hit a great ball. If Stuart Bullard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. Rio Bedford made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Ivan Dearden sent off a good shot on target. 92 minutes into the match, Romford's goalkeeper Rio Bedford had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ivan Dearden. With a little luck, Romford's Rio Bedford got control of the ball when Ivan Dearden tried to sneak it across the goal line. Romford's Rio Bedford proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Romford from getting a goal against them. Surbiton AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
