The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Leeds County FootballClub's Kristopher Cavanagh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Den Blythe in the 7th minute of play. Kelvin Reid made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from James Dimmock in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Den Blythe in the 13th minute of play forced Leeds County FootballClub's goalkeeper Kristopher Cavanagh to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 18 minutes, Calum Vaughan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leeds County FootballClub's supporters crossed their fingers, but Calum Vaughan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 23 minutes, Leon Alcock mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Parkgate United and the Leeds County FootballClub players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Parkgate United's Leon Alcock got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Den Blythe scored 0-2 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kristopher Cavanagh, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Den Blythe struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Kristopher Cavanagh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Parkgate United. Nat Sharpe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Kristopher Cavanagh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kristopher Cavanagh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nat Sharpe, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Calum Vaughan took a quick shot and it went in 1-2 without a chance for Kelvin Reid to make any attempt to save it. After the first half Parkgate United were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nat Sharpe to make the kick off. Parkgate United's Kelvin Reid played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calum Vaughan in the 53rd minute of play. In the 56th minute, Calum Vaughan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, Leeds County FootballClub's Kristopher Cavanagh got control of the ball when Den Blythe tried to sneak it across the goal line. Kristopher Cavanagh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nat Sharpe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Den Blythe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th match minute, Leeds County FootballClub was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by James Dimmock to maneuver through the defense. If James Dimmock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Calum Vaughan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Den Blythe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Parkgate United's supporters rose to their feet, but Den Blythe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kristopher Cavanagh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. James Dimmock kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. If Calum Vaughan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leeds County FootballClub's James Dimmock got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Leeds County FootballClub supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Parkgate United's performance. The match ended with a win for Parkgate United.
