Dylon Stockdale took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tommy Dunn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 22nd minute, Ruben Gulliver got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Liverpool City's Tod Ford got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Dylon Stockdale showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tommy Dunn in the 26th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Liverpool City's Ash Fairbank got a free kick in the 27th minute. Tommy Dunn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dylon Stockdale having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ruben Gulliver in the 31st minute of play forced Stowmarket's goalkeeper Dane Purkiss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Harvey Noble's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 36thth minute, Dylon Stockdale skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Stowmarket's Harvey Noble got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 43rd match minute, Liverpool City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Perry Ablethorpe to maneuver through the defense. In the 44th minute, Toby Starr sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Liverpool City's Dylon Stockdale didn't even have to move. Perry Ablethorpe's late challenge caught a Stowmarket's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Perry Ablethorpe helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Liverpool City getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Perry Ablethorpe hit a great ball. 47 minutes into the game, Tommy Dunn cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Dylon Stockdale was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tod Ford was the one to do the kick off. Dane Purkiss made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Ruben Gulliver sent off a good shot on target. Craig Carlisle charged in rather forcefully in the 59th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Craig Carlisle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 59th match minute, Stowmarket was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Craig Carlisle to maneuver through the defense. After 71 played minutes Liverpool City got a freekick which was hit by Perry Ablethorpe. Toby Starr, 72 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. When Stowmarket's Tommy Dunn in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience was convinced that Harvey Noble's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dylon Stockdale was relentless in the 89th minute of the game.
