Canvey Island City's players were relieved. Jonny Jones received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Abraham Townsend tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 16th minute, Rio Winship hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 19th match minute, Canvey Island City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Grant Simpson to maneuver through the defense. In the 20th minute of the match Jermaine Bramble sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Abraham Townsend skillfully saved the ball. If Zak Howden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 27 played minutes Canvey Island City got a freekick which was hit by Malcolm Moxey. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonny Jones in the 30th minute of play forced Canvey Island City's goalkeeper Abraham Townsend to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Canvey Island City's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alec King in the 33rd minute. A nice corner shot did that Alec King got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Steven Patten quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jonny Jones in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Abraham Townsend prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 42 minutes into the match, Canvey Island City's goal looked a bit too open when Jonny Jones came free, but Abraham Townsend reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 44th minute, Canvey Island City's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Jonny Jones fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Jonny Jones made the kick off in the second half. Canvey Island City's Abraham Townsend played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonny Jones in the 52nd minute of play. A collision led to Biggleswade getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Zak Howden hit a great ball. Grant Simpson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Steven Patten tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute Oliver Briggs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steven Patten saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Zak Howden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd match minute, Canvey Island City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Grant Simpson to maneuver through the defense. After 66 played minutes Canvey Island City got a freekick which was hit by Rio Winship. Jonny Jones fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abraham Townsend having to interfere. During the 72nd minute of the match Rio Winship completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Rio Winship a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Biggleswade booed when Canvey Island City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rio Winship didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 75 minutes of play, Biggleswade's Jonny Jones made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Abraham Townsend was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Jonny Jones's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Abraham Townsend was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. In the 83rd minute Zak Howden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abraham Townsend saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Zak Howden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Canvey Island City's zone, Zak Howden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abraham Townsend came out of the goal and Zak Howden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Biggleswade's Jonny Jones got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Canvey Island City's Abraham Townsend played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ashley Stockley in the 96th minute of play. When the referee ended the match the Biggleswade players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
