In the 14th minute, Canvey Island City's Oliver Briggs ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bobby Halloran. Bobby Halloran yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Oliver Briggs struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Bobby Halloran didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Canvey Island City. The crowd rose to their feet as Canvey Island City's Oliver Briggs slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Bobby Halloran. That made the score 2-0 after 21 minutes of play. Gav Lester sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rio Winship sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute Oliver Briggs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bobby Halloran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Canvey Island City's Abraham Townsend played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felix Flack in the 42nd minute of play. If Oliver Briggs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 48th minute, Johnathan Banks got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Felix Flack made the kick off in the second half. Den Burns sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 54th minute of the match, Felix Flack got a very nice opportunity to score, but Abraham Townsend was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Gav Lester managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arsenal's supporters rose to their feet, but Gav Lester was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abraham Townsend breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bobby Halloran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rio Winship in the 79th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oliver Briggs in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bobby Halloran saved Arsenal from getting behind. Felix Flack scored 3-1 in the 83rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Abraham Townsend, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Oliver Briggs in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bobby Halloran saved Arsenal from getting behind. In the 89th minute, Oliver Briggs left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Canvey Island City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Abraham Townsend took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gav Lester, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Canvey Island City's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
