Crowthorne's supporters rose to their feet, but Darren Craven was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abraham Townsend breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alastair West fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abraham Townsend having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Crowthorne's Alastair West slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Abraham Townsend. That made the score 2-1 after 47 minutes of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Oliver Briggs stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute of the match Christian Goodwick sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Abraham Townsend skillfully saved the ball. In the 61st match minute, Crowthorne was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tommy Clegg to maneuver through the defense. Abraham Townsend tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alastair West in the 98th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Abraham Townsend saved Canvey Island City from getting behind. Crowthorne's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
