Zulu Army's Steve Bridgeman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oliver Briggs in the 34th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Rio Winship managed to get in a good position for a shot. Canvey Island City's supporters rose to their feet, but Rio Winship was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Steve Bridgeman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 47 minutes in the game, Oliver Briggs fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Steve Bridgeman having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Leslie was the one to do the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Oliver Briggs couldn't finish the play. 86 minutes into the match, Oliver Briggs had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Steve Bridgeman. Zulu Army's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Oliver Briggs was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Frank Leslie blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Abraham Townsend having to make a save. Canvey Island City's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
