Spectators: 6000 (Terracing: 4700, Seating: 1275, VIP seats: 25) Don Key started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Maine Road FC's Sol Stockley got a good chance for a goal in the 2nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 9th minute Sol Stockley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ollie Attwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Marcus Hamer fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Warrington warrior's protests and gave Marcus Hamer a yellow card for diving instead. After 12 played minutes Warrington warrior got a freekick which was hit by Marcus Hamer. 13 minutes into the game, Vance Thornton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maine Road FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Warrington warrior the free kick. In the 13th minute, Vance Thornton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17thth minute of the game Don Key who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Maine Road FC's Pedro Mansfield was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ollie Attwood made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sol Stockley in the 21st minute of play. Maine Road FC's Pedro Mansfield played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Don Key in the 23rd minute of play. If Don Key had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Don Key's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Mansfield was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. Julian Pallister fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Mansfield having to interfere. In the 40th minute Don Key shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Mansfield saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 49th minute, Warrington warrior's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Sol Stockley fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

54 minutes into the game, Maine Road FC's Jude Reddington nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ollie Attwood made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 57 minutes into the match, Don Key dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Pedro Mansfield, 1-1. Warrington warrior's Ollie Attwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sol Stockley in the 62nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Don Key's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Mansfield was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Julian Pallister fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Mansfield having to interfere. When Julian Pallister came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Warrington warrior fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Pallister couldn't finish the play. After 78 minutes, Hugh Duckworth mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Maine Road FC and the Warrington warrior players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78th minute, Hugh Duckworth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 87th match minute, Warrington warrior was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Julian Pallister to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Maine Road FC's zone, Don Key stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedro Mansfield came out of the goal and Don Key tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Warrington warrior's Ollie Attwood played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sol Stockley in the 97th minute of play. Warrington warrior were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
