The ball went over the crossbar instead. When James Willmott came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Wigan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that James Willmott couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Wigan booed when Omega United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dominik Castleton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cody Theobold showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Sykes, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Piers Slator tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Wigan's Max Scriven sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Piers Slator narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 62nd minute, Patrick Bond ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cody Theobold was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Loyd Pearce hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. 72 minutes into the game, Max Scriven cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Piers Slator was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a little luck, Wigan's Cody Theobold got control of the ball when Patrick Bond tried to sneak it across the goal line. Patrick Bond's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Cody Theobold skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The referee gave Wigan a penalty, 86 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Marek Styles, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Omega United's Piers Slator. 3-2. Max Bray hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Wigan's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
