Spectators: 6719 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Sammy Seabourne took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 7th minute, Sammy Seabourne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Max Scriven's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jamal Butcher was relentless in the 10th minute of the game. A collision led to Ashtead getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Albert Crowther hit a great ball. In the 13th minute, Jordan Bowe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Ashtead defense, James Willmott kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jamal Butcher. The Ashtead fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jamal Butcher should have stopped the shot. A hard shot 20 in the game by Albert Crowther from a close distance when the talented Cody Theobold managed to make a qualified save. Wigan's players were relieved. Cody Theobold showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Matthew Aspinall, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. James Willmott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 30 minutes of play, Ashtead's Matthew Aspinall made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cody Theobold was left in no man's land by his defense there! Jamal Butcher stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of James Willmott's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. In the 43rd minute, James Willmott got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jamal Butcher showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from James Willmott, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by James Willmott in the 47th minute of play forced Ashtead's goalkeeper Jamal Butcher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Wigan were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Max Scriven made a kick off. If Max Scriven had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. James Willmott sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Jamal Butcher managed to avoid a goal in the 64thth minute, when Wigan's James Willmott fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Max Scriven might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jamal Butcher. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Max Scriven ran back to his position shaking his head. James Willmott blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jamal Butcher having to make a save. After having played for 70 minutes, Max Scriven managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wigan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Max Scriven was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 74th minute James Willmott suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. After 74 minutes, Tyler Lampard mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ashtead and the Wigan players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 75 played minutes Ashtead got a freekick which was hit by Tyler Lampard. In the 79th minute, Albert Crowther got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cody Theobold made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albert Crowther in the 81st minute of play. Max Scriven struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Jamal Butcher didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wigan. The supporters of Wigan booed when Ashtead was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Perry Glasby didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Max Scriven in the 91st minute of play forced Ashtead's goalkeeper Jamal Butcher to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ashtead succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Wigan had controlled the match.
