When Phil Stamer fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Liverpool Athletic's protests and gave Phil Stamer a yellow card for diving instead. Phil Stamer hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Camron Duckworth's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Denzil Coombe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the game, Jerry Patterson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Benjamin Kalischer charged in rather forcefully in the 32nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Benjamin Kalischer the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Jerry Patterson made the kick off in the second half. Jack Woodford hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Billie Kitchen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Denzil Coombe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Billie Kitchen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Liverpool Athletic's Denzil Coombe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Billie Kitchen in the 62nd minute of play. Camron Duckworth took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Denzil Coombe. Denzil Coombe dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. Colin Ely showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerry Patterson in the 72nd minute of the match. The Liverpool Athletic fans' excitement grew in the 88th match minute when Liverpool Athletic's Tosh Wardill looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-6 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tosh Wardill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th minute Camron Duckworth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denzil Coombe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Liverpool Athletic supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Liverpool Athletic would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
