The Italian Immigrants's Barry Preece got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Phil Stamer's late challenge caught a The Italian Immigrants's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Phil Stamer helped the player get up and apologised. Phil Stamer kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. The supporters of The Italian Immigrants booed when Liverpool Athletic was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jerry Patterson made a kick off.
