Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Alf Barton made the kick off which started today's match. When Mickey Bartrup fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Haydock AFC's protests and gave Mickey Bartrup a yellow card for diving instead. After having played for 4 minutes, Ashley Bartram managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Epic United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ashley Bartram was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedro Talbot made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dominic Potterton in the 13th minute. Dominic Potterton blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Pedro Talbot having to make a save. Ralf Dobson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Pedro Talbot tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 23rdth minute of the game Alf Barton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Epic United's Pedro Talbot was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 25 minutes into the match, Epic United's goal looked a bit too open when Alf Barton came free, but Pedro Talbot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dominic Potterton got free with Pedro Talbot in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 28th minute Johnathan Devine shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matty Gulliver saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 29th minute, Steve Hickson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 36 minutes into the match, Epic United's Fred Hughes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Matty Gulliver narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ralf Dobson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Talbot read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Matty Gulliver made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred Hughes in the 44th minute of play. Dominic Potterton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pedro Talbot having to interfere. With a little luck, Epic United's Pedro Talbot got control of the ball when Rio Dunning tried to sneak it across the goal line. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fred Hughes made a kick off. After 53 played minutes, Haydock AFC's Marc Burns shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro Talbot came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Haydock AFC reached it. Pedro Talbot showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dominic Potterton in the 54th minute of the match.
