Spectators: 7469 (Terracing: 5640, Seating: 1729, VIP seats: 100) Fred Hughes started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 5th match minute, HeadHunters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Howard Bradfield to maneuver through the defense. Ashley Bartrams short, quick shot in the 6thth minute got Darryl Naisbitt to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 8th match minute, HeadHunters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Len Cheetham to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Sebastian Trusswell in the 9th minute really tested Darryl Naisbitt's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. After 20 played minutes HeadHunters got a freekick which was hit by Len Cheetham. Barrie Billing sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 30 played minutes Epic United got a freekick which was hit by Damon Bridgeman. 41 minutes into the match, Epic United's goal looked a bit too open when Ed Shakespeare came free, but Pedro Talbot reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darryl Naisbitt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ashley Bartram in the 45th minute.

Ashley Bartram received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Darryl Naisbitt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Ed Shakespeare got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ed Shakespeare had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Barrie Billing had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Fred Hughes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darryl Naisbitt having to interfere. Pedro Talbot came out of the goal in the 69th minute to try and stop a shot by HeadHunters's Barrie Billing. But to his dismay, Barrie Billing quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Fred Hughes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Darryl Naisbitt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Darryl Naisbitt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fred Hughes went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to HeadHunters getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Glenn Sutherland hit a great ball. After 95 played minutes Epic United got a freekick which was hit by Steve Hickson. After 95 played minutes, HeadHunters's Sammy Thomas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Pedro Talbot came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in HeadHunters reached it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ed Shakespeare in the 98th minute of play forced Epic United's goalkeeper Pedro Talbot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
