The supporters of St Annes on Sea booed when Windle Abbey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damien Meechan didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to St Annes on Sea getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Eric Bolton hit a great ball. During the 43rd minute of the match Casey Wellings completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Casey Wellings a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Eric Bolton hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Damien Meechan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Without hesitation aimed to the right of Christopher Gamble, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Nat Bayliff struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Ronan Kingston didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for St Annes on Sea. In the 88th match minute, St Annes on Sea was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eric Bolton to maneuver through the defense. The Windle Abbey players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
