Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. The Deflish FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 11 minutes into the match, Porthcurno United's goal looked a bit too open when Frankie Stone came free, but Verne Anderson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 14 minutes into the game, Frankie Kessler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Porthcurno United's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Deflish FC the free kick. Deflish FC's Clive Dry proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Deflish FC from getting a goal against them. When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Cliff Boyd put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Clive Dry. In the 26th minute Carl Lappin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Verne Anderson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Deflish FC's Clive Dry got control of the ball when Cliff Boyd tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 39th minute, Jimmy Saxton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Deflish FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. 48 minutes into the match, Porthcurno United's goal looked a bit too open when Ritchie Boxall came free, but Verne Anderson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carl Lappin to make the kick off. Verne Anderson made a fantastic save in the 53rd minute, when Frankie Stone sent off a good shot on target. In the 55th minute Carl Lappin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Verne Anderson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Verne Anderson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carl Lappin in the 62nd minute of play. Verne Anderson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carl Lappin in the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cliff Boyd in the 85th minute of play forced Deflish FC's goalkeeper Clive Dry to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kieran Winstanley kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. Verne Anderson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carl Lappin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frankie Stone got free with Verne Anderson in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Deflish FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
