Spectators: 7506 (Terracing: 5630, Seating: 1726, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Frazer Shaw started the match with the kick off. A collision led to Reading FC getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Adrian Revell hit a great ball. After 6 played minutes, MANSFIELD ROYALE's Dennis Gettins shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ash Lawless came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in MANSFIELD ROYALE reached it. With a little luck, Reading FC's Ash Lawless got control of the ball when Vincent Stonehouse tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ash Lawless made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivor Tetley in the 10th minute of play. Vincent Stonehouse could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Ash Lawless made a huge save. Brynn Endean made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frazer Shaw in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Buster Lampard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ivor Tetley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ash Lawless having to interfere. Vincent Stonehouse could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Ash Lawless made a huge save. Frazer Shaw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Reading FC's Marty Noble got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marty Noble recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half Reading FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivor Tetley to make the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Reading FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ivor Tetley came free, but Ash Lawless reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Reading FC's Ash Lawless played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivor Tetley in the 53rd minute of play. 55 minutes into the match, Reading FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ivor Tetley came free, but Ash Lawless reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vincent Stonehouse succeeded in the game's 58th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. Ash Lawless showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ian Soussan, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Brynn Endean stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Frazer Shaw's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. 65 minutes into the match, Frazer Shaw notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of MANSFIELD ROYALE's Brynn Endean. Brynn Endean was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Frazer Shaw had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frazer Shaw sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Adrian Revell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Brynn Endean tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Reading FC booed when MANSFIELD ROYALE was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Buster Lampard didn't get a good kick on the ball. Brynn Endean showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adrian Revell in the 90th minute of the match. Ian Soussan kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. 94 minutes into the match, Reading FC's goal looked a bit too open when Vincent Stonehouse came free, but Ash Lawless reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marty Noble hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match.
