In the 28th minute, Glenn Mayo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Glenn Mayo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Ged Castleton made a huge save. After a defensive mix-up in Blueocean's zone, Alistair Reeve stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tris Pickering came out of the goal and Alistair Reeve tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 40 minutes into the match, Heskeyz's goal looked a bit too open when Seth Fleetham came free, but Ged Castleton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Glenn Mayo's late challenge caught a Heskeyz's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Glenn Mayo helped the player get up and apologised. Alistair Reeve kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 45 minutes, Ged Castleton successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.

The wind increased when Lee Appleton made the kick off in the second half. Glenn Mayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 56th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ged Castleton having to interfere. In the 58th minute Seth Fleetham shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ged Castleton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ian Beasley fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Heskeyz's protests and gave Ian Beasley a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Heskeyz's Ian Beasley got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 74thth minute of the game Lee Appleton who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Blueocean's Tris Pickering was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Seth Fleetham in the 82nd minute of play forced Heskeyz's goalkeeper Ged Castleton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ged Castleton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Glenn Mayo's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Seth Fleetham got in the 85th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Ged Castleton handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. 86 minutes into the match, Heskeyz's goal looked a bit too open when Seth Fleetham came free, but Ged Castleton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
