Spectators: 7477 (Terracing: 5609, Seating: 1719, VIP seats: 149) Red Castle's Travis Braithwaite started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Isaac Pointon during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 6 played minutes Red Castle got a freekick which was hit by Isaac Pointon. When Lloyd Deacon came up free with the goalie in the 8th minute, the Red Castle fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lloyd Deacon couldn't finish the play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kristian Castledine got free with Scott Houlahan in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 14th minute, Lloyd Deacon made a precise shot to the right of Jim Morning. Evolution's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Kristian Castledine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Scott Houlahan having to interfere. In the 22nd minute, Travis Braithwaite got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 24 minutes into the match, Red Castle's goalkeeper Scott Houlahan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kristian Castledine. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Brighton in the 28th minute of play forced Red Castle's goalkeeper Scott Houlahan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute, Evolution's Sebastian Brighton dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Jim Morning came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Red Castle's Lloyd Deacon. But to his dismay, Lloyd Deacon quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Jack Crossman kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Evolution's Leigh Bullard couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 41st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Red Castle. In the 43rd minute, Evolution's Sebastian Brighton ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Scott Houlahan. Scott Houlahan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. Scott Houlahan was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Grant Buckley. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Sebastian Brighton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Quentin Simpson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot by Dave Stride from long distance, 61 minutes into the match, got Jim Morning's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Lloyd Deacon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jim Morning having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Joel West hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brad Crayon in the 76th minute of play forced Red Castle's goalkeeper Scott Houlahan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Travis Braithwaite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Deon Winterburn hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. If Sebastian Brighton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jim Morning made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Travis Braithwaite sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 94 minutes, Leigh Bullard managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Evolution's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leigh Bullard was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Red Castle were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Evolution to leave the ground with a draw.
