Milton's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave gateshead express the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Milton fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 8th minute. Penalty! 14 minutes into the game, Milton's Stewart Hylton nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bart Hatcher made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-1. In the 19th minute, Freddie Stubbs hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Stewart Hylton struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Bart Hatcher didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Milton. Bart Hatcher took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rupert Cryer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Stewart Hylton scored 2-2 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bart Hatcher, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 29th minute, Rhys Waller got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rupert Cryer struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rupert Cryer got free with Bart Hatcher in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 92nd minute, Rupert Cryer fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Bart Hatcher, passed just outside the right post. In the 94th minute, Rhys Waller left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The gateshead express fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-3. gateshead express were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
