Jim Morning didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ricky Groves went, in the 9th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stefan Wardman in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jim Morning prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Stefan Wardman struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Jim Morning didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for st helens town. Evolution's Jim Morning played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ricky Groves in the 17th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in st helens town's zone, Sebastian Brighton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tyler Bassett came out of the goal and Sebastian Brighton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kelvin Fields charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kelvin Fields the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 28th minute, Brad Crayon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 34 minutes into the game, Stefan Wardman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Jim Morning was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 41st minute Ricky Groves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Morning saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jim Morning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Wardman in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 44th minute, Stefan Wardman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 46th minute Stefan Wardman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jim Morning saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to st helens town getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Reuben Rushmere hit a great ball. Kristian Castledine might have been able to make a better finish in the 50th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tyler Bassett. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kristian Castledine ran back to his position shaking his head. The Evolution players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. st helens town were winning 0-2.

Byron Peat hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Jim Morning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Wardman in the 59th minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Wally Horner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Brad Crayon kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Sebastian Brighton's late challenge caught a st helens town's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastian Brighton helped the player get up and apologised. In the 76th match minute, Evolution was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Brighton to maneuver through the defense. In the 80th minute, Kristian Castledine got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute, Oscar Simpson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Freddie Wagstaff was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 83rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Jim Morning showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefan Wardman in the 85th minute of the match. Ricky Groves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Evolution's Jim Morning proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Evolution from getting a goal against them. After 100 played minutes Evolution got a freekick which was hit by Leigh Bullard. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. st helens town walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
