Spectators: 6753 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 17) Thrybergh AFC's Sean Archer started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vince Slade took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sean Archer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 4 minutes of play, Thrybergh AFC's Sean Archer made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vince Slade was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vince Slade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Simon Skipton in the 8th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Milton's Graham Blewett got a free kick in the 9th minute. Simon Skipton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Vince Slade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stewart Hylton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sean Archer in the 19th minute of play forced Milton's goalkeeper Vince Slade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Simon Skipton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vince Slade having to interfere. Vince Slade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sean Archer in the 23rd minute of play. Simon Skipton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Vince Slade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 30 minutes into the match, Thrybergh AFC's goalkeeper Guy Hurst had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rupert Cryer. Vince Slade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sean Archer, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Vince Slade made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Skipton in the 43rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Milton's Graham Blewett got a free kick in the 44th minute. Simon Skipton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vince Slade having to interfere. When Sean Archer came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Thrybergh AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sean Archer couldn't finish the play. The Milton players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Thrybergh AFC were winning 0-1.

Simon Skipton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Vince Slade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute, Simon Skipton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Thrybergh AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. After a rather tough play, Milton's Graham Blewett got a free kick in the 63rd minute. In the 64th minute, Vernon Worrall sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Milton's Vince Slade didn't even have to move. In the 66th minute, Bryan Shakespeare hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vernon Worrall took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Vince Slade. Milton's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Stewart Hylton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guy Hurst having to interfere. A collision led to Thrybergh AFC getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Vernon Worrall hit a great ball. After 74 minutes of play, Milton's Stewart Hylton made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Guy Hurst was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vince Slade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sean Archer, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sean Archer in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vince Slade saved Milton from getting behind. The supporters of Milton booed when Thrybergh AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Len Beckwith didn't get a good kick on the ball. Karl Fleetwood hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Drew Osbon placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Stewart Hylton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thrybergh AFC's Guy Hurst played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stewart Hylton in the 98th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Thrybergh AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
